The Clarksburg Police Department is proud to celebrate their annual Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Clarksburg City Park, located at 1 Clarksburg Park Way, Clarksburg, WV. Bringing together residents, families, first responders, and community partners for an evening dedicated to strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the community they serve.

For over 20+ years, Night Out Against Crime has become a valued Clarksburg tradition that promotes neighborhood unity, crime prevention, and community engagement. As this year’s event approaches, members of the Clarksburg Police Department and the many organizations that help make the evening possible are looking forward to welcoming the community for another memorable celebration.

The event provides an opportunity for residents to meet the officers who serve their neighborhoods, learn about public safety initiatives, enjoy family-friendly activities, and demonstrate that a strong, connected community is one of the most effective tools in preventing crime.

With another successful year on the horizon, organizers are excited to once again bring the community together for an evening of fun, education, and fellowship while continuing the mission of building safer, stronger neighborhoods throughout Clarksburg.

Lindsey Cooper, one of the organizers of Clarksburg’s Night Out Against Crime, said months of planning and coordination have gone into making this year’s event a success.

“We put a lot of time and effort into planning Night Out Against Crime each year,” Cooper said. “Our goal is to make it bigger and better every year by adding new activities, involving more community partners, and creating an event that brings families together while continuing to build on the relationship between our residents and the Clarksburg Police Department.”

Cooper added that the event’s continued growth is a testament to the support of the community and the many volunteers, sponsors, and organizations that help make the evening possible.

Clarksburg Chief of Police Mark Kiddy said that an event of this size would not be possible without the generous support of the local community and City of Clarksburg employees.

“I would just like to thank all the local business owners and individuals that donated for the event, without them the children of the community wouldn’t have anything to look forward to during the summer. I would also like to thank city employees that start months before the event to make this a special night. I hope kids can come out and have a spectacular evening, with prizes, food, and games.”

In addition to the event itself, the first 1,000 attendees will receive free pool admission to the Clarksburg Splash Zone, making it the perfect summer evening for the entire family. Mountaineer Bounce LLC will also be providing a lot of different games and activities for kids to enjoy throughout the night.
