The Clarksburg Farmers Market is back this Saturday, September 19th, offering residents another opportunity to shop local, enjoy live entertainment and take part in family-friendly activities.

The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Tractor Supply parking lot and will take place rain or shine. Shoppers can browse a variety of offerings from local farmers, bakers and makers, including fresh produce and other locally made goods.

Adding to Saturday’s atmosphere will be live music from Eric Alexander, giving visitors a chance to enjoy some entertainment while supporting local vendors.

There will also be plenty to eat and drink throughout the morning. Slush & Slice Co. and Blessed & Grounded will be on site serving up food and refreshments for market visitors.

Families can also stop by the Sprout Spot, where children will have the opportunity to make their own sock pumpkin — a fun seasonal activity just in time for the beginning of fall.

This weekend’s market will also serve as a collection location for the Halloween Costume Drive. Community members are encouraged to bring clean, gently used Halloween costumes to donate. Costumes will be collected September 19th and 26th before being made available during free costume shopping events on October 3rd, 10th and 17th.

Betty Waddy, president of the Clarksburg Farmers Market, said she and the other organizers are looking forward to the fall season beginning soon.

“Fall is right around the corner, so we’re excited to have seasonal favorites like pumpkins and mums available. We’re also looking forward to hosting this costume drive for local children because we believe every child deserves the opportunity to dress up, have fun and enjoy the magic of Halloween.”
