A significant federal investment is coming to Clarksburg as the City continues working to strengthen and improve critical infrastructure throughout the community.

U.S. Rep. Riley M. Moore visited Clarksburg on Wednesday to present local officials with a $5 million federal funding check that will support the reconstruction and rehabilitation of five City-owned bridges.

The funding, secured through Moore’s work on the House Appropriations Committee per a press release, will support improvements to the Dublin Bridge, Sixth Street Bridge, Wiant Hollow Bridge, PFC Hotty Herrick Bridge and Fourth Street Bridge.

The five bridges serve as important connections throughout Clarksburg, providing access for residents, businesses, visitors and emergency services. The investment will allow for improvements aimed at increasing the safety, reliability and longevity of the structures while strengthening the City’s overall transportation infrastructure.

The funding was awarded to the West Virginia Division of Highways, which will oversee and complete the projects. While all five bridges are located within Clarksburg and owned by the City, the Division of Highways will be responsible for administering the improvements.

For the City of Clarksburg, the $5 million investment represents another major step toward addressing infrastructure needs and preparing the community for continued growth.
