The City of Clarksburg is joining communities across the country in recognizing September 2026 as National Recovery Month and highlighting the importance of recovery, support and hope for individuals and families.

On behalf of the City of Clarksburg, Mayor Wayne Worth presented a special proclamation Wednesday recognizing September 2026 as “National Recovery Month” during a local recovery event hosted by the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.

The event brought together individuals, organizations and community partners to recognize those on the journey of recovery while raising awareness about the resources and support available throughout the community.

National Recovery Month is observed each September as an opportunity to celebrate the progress made by those in recovery and recognize the families, friends, professionals and organizations who support them along the way.

Through the proclamation, the City of Clarksburg reaffirmed its commitment to standing alongside those working toward healthier lives and stronger futures.

Recovery is a journey that is strengthened through encouragement, understanding and community support. The City recognizes the courage and determination of individuals working toward recovery, as well as the families and organizations that continue to support them.

As National Recovery Month is recognized throughout September, the City of Clarksburg encourages residents to help reduce stigma, support those in recovery and recognize the positive difference that recovery can make in the lives of individuals, families and the community as a whole.

Together, Clarksburg stands united in supporting those on their journey of recovery and honoring the strength of individuals, families and communities working together to build healthier, drug-free lives.
