First Fridays – Downtown Clarksburg is proud to announce the opening of The Gallery, a new permanent home for the First Friday’s art gallery inside one of Clarksburg’s oldest and most treasured businesses, the James and Law Company, located at 217 W Main Street.

The community is invited to celebrate the opening with a special First Fridays Wine Tasting on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25 per person and include 10 to 18 wines for sampling and purchase, live music, and a special wine glass to take home. Appetizers will be available for purchase.

With this new partnership, First Fridays artists will have work on display all month long, with a new featured artist and fresh artwork installed each month.

The Gallery also offers visitors the opportunity to explore historical displays inside James and Law Company, including Stonewall Jackson images and a historic roll top desk once owned by John Jay Jackson Jr., West Virginia’s first U.S. District Judge appointed by President Abraham Lincoln. The E.W. James Memorial Gallery is also on display and features Mr. James’ artistic works
